The service
AI Root provides an API gateway to third-party AI models, plus tools for redaction, usage metering and cost allocation. The service is currently in an early-access phase: features may change, and while we take billing and data handling seriously, you should not yet treat the platform as high-availability infrastructure for life-or-death workloads.
Your responsibilities
- Keep your API keys secret. Anything spent on your keys is your spend — use per-key budgets to bound exposure.
- You are responsible for the lawfulness of the content you process and for your own professional obligations (including client confidentiality and privacy law) when using AI on client work.
- Redaction is a strong safeguard, not an infallible one. Review output before relying on it for regulated disclosures. Automated entity detection can miss unusual formats.
- No abuse: no attempts to breach rate limits, mint accounts at scale, resell demo capacity, or use the service for unlawful content.
Billing
Usage is metered per token at published rates and drawn from your prepaid credit. Credit top-ups are processed by Stripe. Unused credit is refundable on account closure, less payment-processing costs. We may correct billing errors in either direction and will show our working.
Availability & liability
The service is provided as-is during early access, without warranty of uninterrupted availability. Upstream model providers fail sometimes; the gateway routes around failures where it can. To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law, whose statutory guarantees are not excluded), our liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Suspension & termination
We may suspend keys or accounts that breach these terms or generate abuse. You can close your account at any time; see the privacy policy for what happens to data on closure.
Changes
We will give reasonable notice of material changes to these terms via the email on your account. Continued use after notice is acceptance.
