How assets are placed
No register we ingest publishes coordinates. Each dot is matched at read time to a named station in an open gazetteer, only where the name fits exactly one station on each side — hover a dot to see its match. A guess would render identically to a survey, so anything we cannot place is listed above instead.

A few assets are published with a district and no site — Japan's press names a prefecture. Those are drawn as a soft disc the size of that district, never as a dot, because a dot would claim a precision nobody published.
