A free, cited sample.
A free, open sample of the data — cited, and yours to use under CC BY 4.0, no key needed. The full dataset is on the paid plan.

A JSON sample, up to 100 records per category, with full provenance on each. Generated live from the store, so it's never stale. The response names each category's full size, so you can see how much more the paid plan holds.
A plain GET, filtered by record type with ?record_type=:
What's inside
Counts by record type, live from the export. Everything here is redistributable under the licence below.

What's held back, and why
A few sources are licensed to us, not to the world, so they stay out of the sample. You can still view them in the app. Press records keep their facts but drop the publisher's copyrighted text.

The licence
Use it anywhere, commercial included, as long as you credit the source. Copy the attribution line into your product, paper or dashboard:
Full terms: creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0. The underlying public sources (AEMO, NZ Electricity Authority, the Clean Energy Regulator and others) keep their own terms; the attribution names them.
Where the map positions come from
No register we ingest publishes a coordinate, so every dot on the fleet map is matched at read time to a named station in an open gazetteer. Two of these licences require attribution wherever the coordinates are shown, so the credits live here as well as on the map.

Coordinates leave the building only through GET /v1/fleet.geojson, which states each
dot's licence per feature; the ODbL share-alike notice there is scoped to the OSM-derived dots, not the whole payload.
Found something wrong? Fix it
Every record links to its source, so an error is easy to check. If a capacity is stale, a tender is missing, or a developer changed hands, tell us. Corrections go into a review queue, never straight into the data, and a source link is required.
